I am an exercise scientist with a PhD in Rehabilitation Science. My primary research interests are focused on the efficacy and effectiveness of exercise/physical activity for managing symptoms of restless legs syndrome (RLS). In order to more accurately assess factors that may mediate symptom severity, it is important to understand the relationship among genetics and the presence of and severity of symptoms related to RLS. My aim is to further understand the genetic and proteomic components of RLS, but also of co-occurring sleep disorders, such as insomnia and periodic limb movements.
